Booked: Two re:location people are set to have their art featured in a book published by The Public. Organiser and head-gaffer Dave Pollard, and artist & photographer Dave Haden, will both have arts projects feature in the book. It's set to be printed in the next few weeks.

Kirsty & Kenny: Kirsty, who built the large sculpture of a man in the yard during the Radioactive exhibition, is now singing in a two-piece Blues outfit called Kirsty & Kenny. They've got a website now and a CD almost ready for release! Their web address is: http://www.kirstyandkenny.co.uk

IAT news: It's About Time (they made the video for re:location) will be having a premiere / celebration on Easter Saturday (26th March 05) at the Cadbury College Learning Centre in Kings Norton, Birmingham, from 1:30pm - 3:30pm. They'll launch a docu-com(edy) DVD, featuring a number of familiar artists' faces from and around Birmingham (e.g. Intervention Pre-View presenter Mart E. Knee and Hank Spangle), as well as an 'Arts Trail', a kind of community arts gallery in a number of venues across the 3-estates area of Kings Norton and also some artwork by Intervention fave Alisha Miller, to be displayed on the Bus Number 35. The project '3X KN' is a commission by Rob Hewitt, BCC and New Deal for Communities, and Nigel and Sabine of It's About Time have been acting as lead artists on it. English Light: David H., artist on re:location, has his first solo gallery show launching on Sat 8th January 2005, 2pm-4pm. 'English Light: photographs, 2002-2004' has around 150 luscious prints, split into themes and displayed over the three galleries of the Burslem School of Art. The show will run until 16th February 2005. A catalogue is available. Entrance is free.

An update for you on news relating to the X-Ray Factory and some of the upcoming related events:
THIS FRIDAY 1st OCT 04 - you may be aware that a project has been running over the last few weeks at the factory, under the theme LIVE / WORK spaces, giving a number of artists the opportunity of exploring and creating buildings and structuires within the factory yard. The project has been co-ordinated by The Public in conjunction with Sozo. The artists have created structures include a house made from junk mail, one from wardrobes, experimental kitchens made at the factory and a converted 70's caravan into for sound artists to live/work/ and perform, plus many others. This Friday is the open day for the project and Dave promises an eye - opening event! Suggest getting there around 12 noon.
29TH OCTOBER 04 - is the launch day for an exhibition put together by Parminder & Vanley. Two years in the making, over 10,000 images, eventually the exhibition has arrived: The Apna Life Photographic Exploration. 'Apna Life' translated means 'Our Life'. This project is a documentation of South Asian, (Indian, Pakistani and Bangladeshi), life in Birmingham. It is a visual record of the South Asian community's contribution to and integration with British society. This exhibition will highlight the struggles, successes and failures of Asians trying to establish themselves in the UK. An attempt to capture all aspects of South Asian life: play, prayer, rest and work. This exhibition challenges stereotypical images of South Asians. Timing of opening to follow.
Also 'Radioactive' artist, MATTHEW KRISHANU has his first solo exhibition opening soon (poss end of Oct) The Wednesbury Museum and Art Gallery. Dates and times soon, or phone the Gallery.
